We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Service as a Senior Pest Control Technician. This is a key operational role that helps protect the health, wellbeing, and safety of our residents, businesses, and communities. As a Senior member of the team, you will deliver high-quality pest control services, support the development of a team of technicians, and ensure thar our response to pest-related issues is effective, professional, and customer-focused. To be successful in this role you need: To be Qualified to a minimum of RSPH/BPCA Level 2 Award in Pest Management, with extensive operational experience. Be knowledgeable about pest biology, behaviour, treatment methods, and relevant legislation. Be skilled in problem-solving, decision-making, and managing complex or sensitive cases. Be confident working independently and capable of supporting or supervising others. Be committed to high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer care. Be comfortable using mobile technology and completing detailed digital records. Able to communicate professionally with residents, colleagues, businesses, and partner agencies. Be flexible and prepared to respond to urgent or out-of-hours issues when required. You will have a responsibility for: Leading a complex pest control investigations and treatments across domestic, commercial, and public settings. Provide specialist technical expertise on a wide range of pests, including rodents, insects, wasps, and other public health pests. Oversee and mentor Pest Control Technicians, offering guidance, training, and on-site support. Conduct thorough inspections, risk assessments, and treatment plans in line with legislation and council procedures. Ensure safe handling, storage, and application of pesticides in accordance with COSHH and industry best practice. Maintain accurate digital records, reports, and service documentation. Contribute to the development of service standards, procedures, and continuous improvement work. Work closely with Environmental Health Officers, Housing, Community Safety, and external partners to resolve persistent or high-risk pest issues. Deliver excellent customer service, providing clear advice and reassurance to residents and businesses.
