Central Support Manager Forth Valley Hospital, Larbert Full time-39 hours per week Monday- Friday Competitive salary plus benefits Serco are recruiting for a Central Support Manager to join the team at Forth Valley Hospital. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational support to the General Manager at Forth Valley Hospital, overseeing the effective management and delivery of Portering, Linen, Waste / Switchboard, Helpdesk, Reception and Security Services. They will be accountable for ensuring service quality standards are consistently met within agreed performance and budgetary frameworks. A key part of the role involves fostering integrated working practices and cultivating strong customer relationships across all levels of the organisation. The post holder will also play an active role as a member of the Extended Leadership Team. Main Accountabilities: Assuming responsibility for all Portering, Linen, Waste / Switchboard, Helpdesk, Reception and Security operations to ensure contract service compliance in accordance with efficient and effective service delivery Managing the budget in line with set expenditure and draw up contingency plans to deal with projected overspends Monitor key performance indicators and agree improvement plans within an agreed timescale where these fall below set standards Contributing to the annual business plan for Portering, Linen, Waste / Switchboard, Helpdesk, Reception and Security operations identifying new business opportunities within the contract and supporting the negotiations with the authorised officer where additional funding is required Liaising with customers and managers of NHS Forth Valley to ensure the agreed level of service is being delivered to the standards required Liaise with the Training Coordinator to ensure all Serco staff employed on the site under your supervision are trained to the required standard to carry out their duties Establishing and reviewing working procedures within each area to ensure the requirement of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1974 regulations are adhered to. Investigating client complaints and providing response into the helpdesk system Authorising the purchase and procurement of materials and supplies for the services within your remit and ensuring that the cost, quality and wastage of products and materials are monitored on a regular basis Ensuring that arrangements are in place to respond to out of hours service issues in a timely manner Reviewing and amending annual service and personal objectives Central Support Team Leaders Plan, interpret and devise budgetary plans to monitor performance adjusting plans accordingly Responsible for policy implementation and development of service Responsible for recruitment of staff Ensure all staff have an annual appraisal and PDP completed Authorisation of payroll data Authorised budgetary signatory Participate in and contribute to various external forums Represent the organisation at external events and meetings What you’ll need to do the role: Minimum of three years logistics experience preferably in healthcare and or contract sectors NVQ Level 2 or 3 in relevant subject of Health and Safety / Manual handling. Basic Certificate in Health and Safety NVQ Level 2 in supervisory management Previously managed a large team of staff Flexible to work additional hours where needed Able to understand and analyse data Excellent interpersonal and communication skills IT literate – Microsoft Office Able to use own initiative in problem solving on day-to-day issues Ability to empathise with all customers understanding their needs and be able to work effectively and positively in an environment that requires a high level of morale and good working atmosphere.
