The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a safety professional to join our H&S team, supporting safety due diligence and improvement projects across the infrastructure sector. You will work on diverse global assignments, advising on investments in renewable energy, transport, infrastructure, and digital assets.
Based in Manchester (preferable) or London, this role involves close collaboration with Arup’s UK and global offices, drawing on local expertise to deliver tailored advice to international clients. Therefore, there will be opportunities for travel within Europe and occasionally further afield.

Is this role right for you?
We are seeking a Health & Safety professional to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead and support health and safety due diligence projects, helping investors and clients understand critical risks, opportunities, and regulatory requirements associated with assets and operations. You will also support on larger H&S improvement pieces.
You will review asset data, management systems, and performance metrics, working closely with technical and commercial specialists to provide clear, practical recommendations. The role will also involve supporting the development of H&S maturity assessments, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
As part of a collaborative team, you will represent Arup in meetings, contribute to proposals, and share knowledge to drive business development and thought leadership. Opportunities for growth can include engaging with clients, delivering bigger H&S pieces and work winning, alongside peers.
Requirements and Skills
1. A background in Health & Safety, ideally within a consultancy or operational environment. Experience across sectors such as Energy, Utilities, Transport, Renewables or Digital would be a preference.
2. Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practice.
3. Proven experience in one or more of the following areas; due diligence, risk analysis, and management system reviews.
4. Ability to interpret complex technical issues and communicate them effectively to clients and stakeholders. Including, project management skills & the ability to balance multiple priorities.
