Job Summary
From November 2025 until at least March 2026 we will be running a new DVT service in Swindon and are looking for a registered nurse to join our team on a casual/bank basis.
We also run a DVT service along with other services in BNSSG (Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos). Please contact us if you would like to find out more about these services.
Main duties of the job
* Working to our agreed DVT Treatment protocols, the DVT Nurse (DVTNs) will be responsible for the initial nursing assessment and subsequent education and care of patients with confirmed DVT or inconclusive scans.
* The post holder will recognise the impact of a diagnosis of DVT on each patient and ensure information is given in a manner and timely way that patients can understand, giving time for questions.

Responsibilities
* Deliver a high standard of patient care and administrative duties within community outpatient clinics.
* Work with a team consisting of a nurse, healthcare assistant, sonographer or vascular scientist.
* Contribute to the delivery of safe and efficient clinics ensuring patient dignity and confidentiality are respected.
* Use your own initiative, multi‑task and work under pressure.
Person Specification – Essential
* Registered nurse with experience in DVT or related services.
* Ability to assess and educate patients with confirmed or suspected DVT.
* Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
