Job Description

Due to the significant growth of the UK Public Sector business, Version 1 is keen to recruit an experienced Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager looking for a new challenge, and the opportunity to work with large‑scale clients.

You will develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the public sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets, maximises revenue whilst delivering the highest level of customer service.

The role will be part of a successful team focused on UK Public Sector opportunities. The team is made up of sales people, who generate new opportunities and/or lead on responses to large government tenders; and Account Managers who manage opportunities into the existing customer base.


Role

Version 1 has been driving success for our customers for more than 26 years through the market‑leading technology solutions we provide and through our people. The role will encompass the following elements:

* High levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets.
* Account financial targets – growing the value of new and existing accounts.
* Prepare and own Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for your customers, ensuring they are effective and driving completion of any arising actions.
* Prepare, present, and deliver Version 1 propositions to customers and be confident in doing this virtually and in person.
* Contribute to bid strategies to maximise winning opportunities, ensuring all sales opportunities and bids are fully qualified and viable.


Other Responsibilities

* Maintain a pipeline aligned to your customer horizon – understand their strategy on a rolling 24‑month basis, setting out opportunities aligned to the strategy and proactively shaping plans as a go‑to partner.
* Effective time management – prioritise tasks and personal time, recognizing and flagging issues outside your area of expertise.
* Obtain customer and partner publicity, including case studies, win wires, and press releases.
* Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Delivery, Partner Account Managers, Commercial Operations) to ensure success with bid reciprocation, contracts, and prospects.
* Travel regularly to Version 1 and customer sites across the UK and Ireland to build, invest in, and create strong relationships.


Qualifications

* Experience working in a sales team in an account management capacity or similar role.
* Experience in IT services, IT consultancy, technology solutions, or similar industry.
* Awareness of (or willingness to learn) public‑sector tender processes, including government frameworks.
* Strong influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate people at multiple levels.
* Confidence in completing tenders and internal documentation to a high standard using Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience building good customer relationships.
* Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.
