The team thrives on offering a trauma informed approach to care.
Working within our well-established and supportive team Urgent Care Team, will particularly focus on supporting neuro diverse young people. The successful candidate will have a broad remit, working across with acute colleagues and Community CAMHS, to undertake assessments of young people in A&E and deliver clinical interventions to a small case load.
As a new role, the candidate will be able to shape the service and influence the development of the treatment offer we provide to neuro diverse young people.
Main duties of the job
Clinical - Liaison and Crisis Intervention Service
1. To undertake initial mental health and risk assessments of young people following acts of deliberate self-harm. These will take place mainly in A&E and on the Paediatric wards.
2. To undertake initial mental health and risk assessments following other risky behaviours and urgent mental health presentations, in the A&E department, wards and crisis hubs.
3. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of young people with a diagnosis of ADHD/ASD and have emotional or behavioural difficulties or a mental health disorder, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
