Overview
The post-holder will join a team of community Paediatricians who provide community services for Salford children. Salford is one of only six sites in the North West to offer higher level / Grid community paediatric training.
Paediatric outpatient clinics are held in health and social care centres across Salford in Walkden, Eccles, Swinton and Pendleton Gateways. Referrals come from the neurodevelopmental pathway, GPs and 0-19 service. The Community Paediatricians have district wide responsibility in their area of special expertise (including neurodisability, safeguarding, looked after children, epilepsy and complex disability) and cover a geographical patch of the city. The post holder will provide community paediatric care in sites across the city and contribute to the ongoing development of the neurodevelopmental pathway for Salford, including joint working with partner agencies.
The service is co-located with other children’s community services in the community hub at St James’s House, allowing for multidisciplinary working and good communication across the services.
It is planned that this will be a Salford based role but there may be a need to visit or be based in the other areas among Bury, Rochdale and Oldham.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver community paediatric clinics and child protection clinics.
* Take part in the multidisciplinary assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the recently established neurodevelopmental pathway.
Qualifications
* Applicants within 6 months of their CCT would be able to take this post in an acting up capacity.
* Applicants with particular interest in epilepsy are welcomed.
