Overview
The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive and courteous clerical and meet and greet service to patients and their families, working with the multidisciplinary team within Child Health.

We are currently looking to appoint a Receptionist to work in the Den (including the Den Reception, Children's Hearing Services Reception and, when/if required, Nightingale ward and Neonatal Unit Receptions) within the Family Care Division.
This role will involve work on weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential, with great attention to detail to ensure data is recorded accurately onto patient administration systems.
To be successful in this role you will possess IT skills, GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (or equivalent) and have relevant office/secretarial experience. You must also be adaptable to meet the service needs. Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are desirable.

Responsibilities
* Checking in patients and booking follow up appointments.
* Answering and actioning patient queries via telephone, email, or in person.
* Maintaining patient case notes as required for clinics.
Qualifications and skills
* Essential: IT skills; GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (or equivalent); relevant office/secretarial experience; adaptability to meet service needs.
* Desirable: Knowledge of medical terminology; customer care experience; previous NHS experience.
