Band 2 Paediatric Ward Clerk - Kempton Day Bed Unit
Our Paediatrics department is excited to advertise a permanent full‑time Ward Clerk position in our children's Kempton Day Bed Unit. This post is a good introduction into the NHS, acting as front‑of‑house reception for paediatric patients attending same‑day procedures and those from Children's A&E to our Same Day Emergency Care unit.
The successful applicant must have a calm and kind demeanour, want to work with the public and display good IT literacy skills alongside the ability to multi‑task within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Front of house representation for the named ward, meeting and greeting patients and families upon arrival; ensure all patients and colleagues are treated courteously at all times in line with customer care standards and Trust values.
* Reception duties: checking patients in on hospital IT systems, communicating with clinical staff of arrivals and guiding patients and their relatives to appropriate waiting areas.
* Support nursing and clinical ward team with all administrative duties required for the role.
* Answering telephone enquiries promptly and efficiently, handling a variety of requests professionally whilst upholding the hospitals CARE values.
