Job Position:Hygiene Maintenance Supervisor Department: Hygiene Reports to:DepartmentHygiene Manager Hours:40 hours per week (Mon-Fri / 17.00 - 01.30) Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK. The Hygiene Maintenance Manager will report to the Head Hygiene Department Manager and be part of the established Hygiene team. They will support the hygiene department to ensure the efficient and safe operation of manufacturing equipment throughout the hygiene cycle and in preparation for shift commencement. Key Responsibilities Take a lead role in breaking down / building up equipment throughout the cleaning cycle Lead and manage daily operations of maintenance within the hygiene department, including scheduling, troubleshooting and repairs. Build, manage and develop a team of Hygiene Maintenance Technicians to ensure satisfactory performance at all times. Work closely with the Hygiene Manager to ensuremaintenance of all equipment complies with internal and stakeholder audit procedures. Liaise with Maintenance department and attend weekly Hygiene/Maintenance meetings. Contribute to new equipment projects to promote hygiene maintenance requirements (e.g. ease of cleaning, minimising foreign body risks). Adopt a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork with the hygiene department Identify opportunities for improvement in hygiene maintenance process Ensure all hygiene maintenance activities comply with H&S policies, HSENI guidelines and environmental regulations. Mentor, train and support the wider hygiene team to encourage excellence. Attend internal meetings to promote highest quality standards of hygiene operations. Support the delivery of employee wellbeing initiatives. Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels across the business. Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration do the right thing approach in all interactions. Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times. Essential Criteria Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment At least 2-years experience in working with mechanical equipment. IT literate proficient in MS package. Exceptional leadership, time management and organisation skills Experience in supervising people/leading a team. Excellent communicator with the ability to engage at all levels Desirable Criteria Experience of working within the food manufacturing industry A degree of flexibility is required to accommodate audits / sickness cover / holiday cover Safety related qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH) Skills: People management Compliance Project Management Continuous improvement Staff Training Benefits: Medical Aid / Health Care Pension Fund Mental Health & Wellbeing support Learning & Career Development opportunities // Employee Engagement Activities // Subsidised canteen
