We are recruiting for a motivated Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in leading the kitchen of Bodega 18 Tapas Bar, a restaurant with a great reputation in the centre of Falmouth

We are open to hearing from experienced CDP ready for the next step in their career, however we need at least 1 year Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie experience from all candidates.

Daily share of tips in cash which can range from £10-£50 averaging around £25 per day.

A mixture of splits, daytime shifts and evening shifts.

Its an hourly paid role with a guarantee of 30 hours per week, however there will be the opportunity to work more hours especially during the summer months. Overtime is paid at an hourly rate.

Your duties will include, but aren't limited too:

* Helping to lead and manage the kitchen team with a disciplined and friendly manner, ensuring a high standard of food preparation, presentation, and service.
* Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
* Managing food & labour costs, including stock takes and monitoring waste.
* Assisting in creating specials alongside the Head Chef.
* Organising and rotating stock meticulously. Keeping the kitchen and kitchen stock to a 5* EHO standard.
* Strong emphasis on training and developing the kitchen team, including the monitoring of performance, coaching, and giving feedback.
* Developing respectful partnership with the General Manager, working together to boost sales as well as productivity and team morale
* Maintaining and facilitating good communication between both BOH and FOH.
* Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations. Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.

Experience:

* Previous experience working in a restaurant kitchen setting
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
* Proficient in various kitchen duties including food preparation, cooking, and plating
* Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
