Job Description
We are currently in search of an experienced Engineering Team Leader with expertise in the Certification of equipment for use in Potentially Explosive Environments with a focus on Intrinsic Safety protection concepts, to join our vibrant team.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of engineers to ensure the successful delivery of intrinsic safety activities for various projects while meeting business objectives.
2. Ensure compliance with relevant intrinsic safety standards and regulations throughout certification projects
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety requirements are adequately addressed throughout the development process.
4. Provide technical leadership in intrinsic safety to support project teams.
5. Manage and mitigate risks associated with certification activities.
6. Provide training and mentorship to team members on intrinsic safety concepts and practices.
7. Monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.
8. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
9. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
Essential
10. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
11. Qualification gained through higher education in an Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or related subject
12. Proven experience in an engineering leadership role.
13. Extensive knowledge of intrinsic safety standards and regulations.
14. Experience in the application of the Ex standards and the relevant testing protocols, and in applying professional judgement on compliance and the significance of non-compliance.
15. ATEX / IECEx / UKEx knowledge
Desirable
16. Experience in an engineering environment of drawing office practice, factory production and quality control methods or systems
17. General engineering background
18. Knowledge of how decisions impact business results, working with a diverse team and planning and thinking strategically.
19. Demonstrates the ability to manage employee performance using performance expectations and goals, and responding to employee relations issues.
