The role

A well-established secondary school in Northumberland is seeking a History Teacher to join its Humanities department. The role includes teaching across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities for experienced candidates.

The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and structured lessons, develop pupils’ analytical and evaluative skills, and support strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes.

Northumberland | Large 11–18 Secondary with Sixth Form Provision

£163 – £ per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Key responsibilities

6. Deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4

7. Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE (and A-Level where applicable)

8. Assess and track pupil progress

9. Contribute to curriculum development and intervention strategies

The ideal candidate

10. QTS (or equivalent)

11. Experience teaching History at secondary level

12. Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding

13. Effective classroom management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
