Full job description Job Overview We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, committed Nursery Manager to join our team. The role will oversee our two small independent home away from home settings who have been managed by the hands on owner for the past 7years. Our owner was a fully qualified primary school teacher for 11years and it was always her dream to open her own nursery so the nursery truly is built off of passion and a love for child development and staff well-being. The main aim of our nursery is to create a stimulating environment, centred at the children’s learning, interests and well-being, therefore embedding a life long love for learning. Our nursery has been developed through experience, passion and dedication to ensure that each and every child is valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Safeguarding is our main priority at the setting and we will always follow strict procedures to ensure all children are safeguarded consistently. Our setting has a Designated Safeguarding Lead who supervises the day to day safeguarding of each and every child in the setting and we are also enrolled in Operation Encompass. We pride ourselves on our child initiated curriculum which ensures that each child's interests are explored each and every day building on their cultural capital and promoting individuality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Early Years with at least 5years experience managing a nursery, prior experience being hands on and room based, Level 3 qualification, experience with Ofsted and delivering high quality EYFS practice with a child led curriculum. We look to engage with Early Years Professionals who convey themselves as reliable, trustworthy, patient, efficient and empathetic. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day nursery operations Lead and supervise staff, including staff supervisions and appraisals Prepare for and lead Ofsted Inspections and action plans Deliver high-quality EYFS practice Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and quality standards The Nursery Manager must ensure that the other deputy managers, room leaders and nursery practitioners are managing EYFS delivery quality and performance to meet an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ rating. The Nursery Manager will act as the primary Nursery first point of contact, promoting the Nursery to current and prospective parents. Essential Experience & Skills Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 preferred) Experience as a Nursery Manager Ofsted inspection experience (Good or Outstanding settings preferred) Experience with staff supervision, performance management and leadership Strong EYFS knowledge Safeguarding and compliance experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year depending on qualifications and experience Work Location: In person
