Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Afterschool club. Alongside working in the preschool room as an Early Years Educator
The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organised environment for children, while maintaining high standards of childcare and communication. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating activities, and fostering positive relationships with children and parents alike. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to early childhood education and childcare excellence.
Responsibilities
* Manage the daily operations of the Afterschool room, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
* Lead and supervise a team of childcare assistants and staff, providing guidance and support
* Plan, organise, and oversee age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
* Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation within the childcare environment
* Maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment
* Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and daily routines
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding procedures
* Assist with onboarding new staff members and organise ongoing training sessions
* Monitor children's behaviour and development, providing support where necessary
* Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones
* Providing support to the nursery with care of the children during the day to day activities in the nursery including sleep, toileting, first aid and toileting.
* Provide a high quality, child-centred service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families, in line with the EYFS and Play Principles.
* Work within our fun team supporting children to progress and develop their skills in the various areas of the EYFS.

Requirements
Experience
* Proven management experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
* Experience working directly with children across various age groups
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in childcare
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Previous experience in nursery or early childhood education settings is highly desirable
* Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or supplies when required

Pay: £10.85-£12.75 per hour
