Job overview
We are recruiting for experienced band 6 nurses with a postgraduate qualification in critical care to join the RCN Team of the Year 2021 Winners, the Adult Critical Care Unit at the Royal London Hospital.
We are on the frontline in London’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and are rapidly expanding our critical care capacity to meet increased demand. Our additional capacity supports complex surgical, trauma, emergency, and COVID-19 patients, with staff rotating across all critical care areas.
As the UK’s largest trauma centre, our ACCU unit leads the trauma network for North East London and Essex, providing specialized care in neurosciences, stroke, general medical, surgical, and obstetric services.
Main duties of the job
Working within a highly skilled, dynamic multidisciplinary team in our busy 60-bed Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU), which accommodates both Level 2 and Level 3 patients. This role is ideal for energetic, enthusiastic staff nurses with at least 6 months of acute experience, providing high-standard care in a challenging but supportive hospital setting.
We offer professional development opportunities including band 5/6 pathways, critical care courses, neurosciences, ILS/ALS, and support for degree/masters studies, including an in-house Trauma Course in collaboration with City University.
We promote flexible working, childcare vouchers, family-friendly policies, and staff benefits, including an excellent pension scheme.
