National Highways have an excellent opportunity for 3 Site Supervisors to join our team in Operations. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering major maintenance and minor improvement schemes across the South East region. Reporting directly to the Construction Assurance Manager, you will undertake construction surveillance and assurance inspections to verify the quality of works undertaken by external contractors.
Please note that you may be required to work predominantly unsociable hours, including nights and weekends, for which there will be paid overtime and/or an out-of-hours allowance.
This role will be based at our Maidstone office.
Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role, and you will need to have no more than 3 points on your driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assure the completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate any concerns to the Construction Assurance Manager (CAM), in line with governance agreements.
2. Ensure construction works comply with CDM regulations, HSE legislation, environmental legislation, and Chapter 8 requirements, ensuring Principal Contractor duties are properly discharged.
3. Provide regular and timely feedback to Project Managers on scheme construction progress, risks, early warnings, and design issues, acting as the initial point of escalation for on-site issues.
4. Act as liaison between key supply chain partners and coordinate the delivery programme, ensuring buildability reviews are carried out on all projects.
5. Represent the interests of National Highways on construction/maintenance sites, assuring supplier performance and the completion of works to standards, escalating concerns as needed.
About you:
* Proven highway/structures and maintenance/construction experience, especially on high-speed Trunk Road/Motorway Networks.
* Good understanding of DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8, and CDM Regulations.
* CSCS Card Holder, SSSTS or SMSTS Certificate is essential.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, responding to management guidance.
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
