The role: A Licence Aircraft Technician
The Technician grade is based on an CAA Cat A license and allows for Limited Maintenance Authorisation certification in accordance with BA Engineering Department Quality procedures, for specific maintenance tasks, component changes and routine checks personally performed by the individual.
What you’ll do:
Subject to authorisations held:
1. Completion of maintenance tasks, rectification of defects including component changes within the scope of appropriate Authorisation as defined in British Airways Engineering Quality Procedures. Shall issue a CRS or Sign-Off as applicable for maintenance carried out.
2. Will take every opportunity as necessary to extend knowledge and skills base with training and experience
3. Support Planning by ensuring completion of tasks to agreed time scales
4. Maintain a safe working environment through adherence to quality, health and safety and housekeeping standards
5. Carry out computer and documentary transactions as required.
6. Support the development of a high-performance team and culture, in line with the company hallmarks
7. Support the delivery of departmental and directorate objectives in line with company hallmarks working flexibly to support maintenance activities that may include transporting, positioning and delivering components, material and equipment.
8. Replenish vehicles, storage facilities and equipment as necessary
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
9. Good IT literacy
10. Good knowledge of engineering procedures and technical documentation and ability to comprehend technical publications.
11. Highly self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and as part of a team
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills
13. Good Prioritisation, planning and organisation
14. Problem solving and acting on own initiative.
15. Technical decision making
16. Working to deadlines, company standards and values
17. Demonstrates good airmanship.
18. Experience level as appropriate to hold an CAA 66 Cat A Licence
Your experience:
19. Applicant shall hold an CAA 66 Cat A or Cat B1 licence
20. Valid full UK driving licence (or equivalent) (desirable)
21. Ability to hold airport restricted zone access (essential for Terminal based role)
22. Ability to hold an airside driving licence (desirable)
23. Successful applicants must attain either A3 or A4 type qualifications relevant to their work area.
24. Ability to hold Cat3 / HGV driving permit (desirable)
25. Ability to carry out aircraft headset functions.
