We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. Responsible for the application, maintenance, development, and assessment of all quality related areas within the business. These include maintaining quality standards/requirements, quality planning, reporting, procedure development, corrective action activity, and collaborating on supplier quality improvement.

Establish and achieve planned performance levels in product conformance and process capability. Promptly report any variance from plan and recommend corrective action(s). Work with management to develop, optimize and implement policies creating a clear vision and the execution of a results-driven Quality Management System, which will create business-wide improvements and high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.


Responsibilities

* To act as a representative of the quality department to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers on a day-to-day basis.
* Responsible for customer issues and returns, from initial customer contact through to a timely resolution for the customer.
* Leading and facilitating the corrective and preventive action processes to ensure they are effectively identifying the root cause of issues; implementing robust corrective/preventive actions and problem resolution is permanent.
* Analysis of customer issues and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Responsible for organising the completion of the agreed internal audit schedule for the site, ensuring all internal audits are carried out on time.
* Responsible for ensuring all actions identified during internal audits are allocated and completed within a timely manner.
* Responsible for ensuring suppliers are performing well and where issues occur that Supplier Corrective Actions are robust enough to prevent further risk to the business.
* Working with suppliers to help them understand our requirements and quality standards.
* Management and completion of FAI Report for customer in line with the requirements of AS9102.
* Issuing and managing concessions and production permits.
* Authorisation of Initial Sample Inspection Report for new components for use in production.
* Ensure scrap is dispositioned, recorded, and reported at defined intervals.
* Analysis of scrap and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Provide quality input in design and processes reviews, to ensure products can be manufactured right first time whilst instilling a no-fault forward ethos into the business.
* Serve as a change agent and implement measures that improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and/or efficiency.
* Work with staff and co-workers to utilize quality improvement methods of assessment, planning, implementation, and validation.
* Assist in the development of written policies and procedures essential to the administration and operation of the Quality Management System. This includes timely updates as changes in Quality standards dictate.
* Devise sampling procedures and implement systems for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
* Maintain routine data collection, entry, and reporting to defined criteria to assure product and process conformance that can be used to identify risks and drive down the Cost of Poor Quality to the business.
* To assist with all third-party audits, including certification surveillance and renewal audits as well as any customer audits.


Skills

* Five years of Quality function and/or Engineering experience. Experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of AS9100 or similar standards preferred but not essential.
* Experience of preparing ISIR/FAIR/PPAP documents
* Must have working knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, Product Realization Systems, problem solving methodologies.
* Demonstrable superior written and verbal communication skills both internally and externally to customers and suppliers.
* Ability to utilise statistical analysis techniques using Microsoft platforms such as excel as well as other software packages.
* Aptitude to work proactively and confidently without close supervision.
* Ability to interface and work well with all levels of management personnel and across/down functional lines.
