Receptionist / Administration Assistant
Grade 5 SCP 7 – 9 (£26,403 - £27,254 pro-rata)
39 weeks per year (term time only)
37 hours per week - 08:00-16:30 Monday-Thursday / 08:00-16:00 Friday
The Headteacher and governors are seeking to appoint a Receptionist / Administration Assistant to provide high-quality reception and administrative support within a busy school environment.
This is a key front-facing role, contributing to the smooth and effective running of the school and providing a welcoming, professional first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
The Role
Under the guidance of the Office Manager and Senior Staff, the successful candidate will:
1. Undertake reception duties, including handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and liaising with parents and staff
2. Provide general clerical and administrative support such as photocopying, filing, scanning, data entry and routine correspondence
3. Use and maintain manual and computerised records, including pupil and staff data via Bromcom (training provided)
4. Assist with the organisation of school trips, events and meetings, including bookings and refreshments
5. Maintain school diaries, meeting room and mini-bus bookings
6. Prepare and distribute internal and external mail
7. Support administration of free school meals, admissions and transition processes
8. Administer daily detention lists
9. Manage the biometric cashless catering system for pupils, staff and visitors
10. Process purchase orders through FSM (training provided)
11. Receive and redirect deliveries and oversee lost property
12. Provide general advice and guidance to pupils, staff, parents and visitors
13. Daily use of a walkie talkie
The CLOSING DATE for receipt to complete an application is Monday 11th May at 9am, with interviews provisionally planned for week commencing 18th May 2026.
The successful applicant will be expected to undergo an enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service prior to commencing employment, together with an employee health questionnaire.
