We’re seeking a hands-on Finance Business Partner to play a pivotal role in driving our business’s operational performance. This is a true business-facing role working with senior non-finance stakeholders to shape financial decisions, influence operational strategy, and ensure profitability.
You’ll gain high-level stakeholder exposure, have the opportunity to lead a small team, and engage in systems and process improvement projects, making a tangible difference to daily operations.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Partnering with Operations: Serve as the finance expert for operational stakeholders. Analyze costs, challenge assumptions, monitor trends, and guide decision-making.
2. Shaping Decisions: Develop insightful financial reports and dashboards; coach operational teams to enhance financial understanding.
3. Project Oversight: Track costs, identify risks and opportunities, and manage budgets effectively.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support leadership in setting and managing budgets and forecasts.
5. Month-End Processes: Lead month-end and year-end activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
6. Driving Improvements: Enhance reporting systems and business processes for efficiency.
7. Costing & Inventory Control: Lead standard costing and inventory valuation processes, ensuring accurate reporting.
8. Team Leadership: Manage one direct report, focusing on process improvements, skill development, and team performance.
Qualifications include:
* Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
* Manufacturing finance experience (advantageous), especially with standard costing systems.
* Experience in distribution centre operations is a bonus.
* Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes.
* Curious mindset with attention to detail and data analysis skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and effective communication skills to translate finance data for non-finance teams.
If you’re seeking a commercially focused, operational finance role where you can make a visible impact, this could be your next step.
Additional details:
* Seniority level: Mid-Senior level
* Employment type: Full-time
* Job function: Accounting/Auditing
