Responsibilities
* Complete month end activities in 3 days (Mon-Wed) on a 4-4-5 basis.
* Be the finance lead for analysis, reporting and control of:
o Sales Order profitability
o Inventory including Raw Material, WIP, & Finished Goods
o Stock Control, including standards
o Fixed Assets
o Prepayments & Accruals
o Cost Centers
* Ensure appropriate Chart of Accounts within existing JDE ERP system
* Build understanding of JDE ERP processes to enable full engagement in replacement of JDE with SAP where you will be the local finance expert on the implementation project.
* Ensure the Finance department Keeps Our Promises to all stakeholders.
* Suggest and implement improvements within finance processes and policies
* Ensure compliance with Group policies in compliance with US GAAP including:
o Revenue recognition in compliance within ASC606
o Loss Contract Provisions
o Excess & Obsolete Stock Reporting
* Provide analysis and support for internal and external audit requirements.
* Take responsibility for low level approvals of costs currently done by the Financial Controller.
* Support Financial Accountant and Financial Controller in all aspects of Finance including Planning, Budgets, and Forecasting
* Be the ‘go-to’ backup for all finance queries and activities in the event of team holiday and sickness.
* Be a key part of succession planning within the Finance department.
* Work closely with Engineering, Production and Product Yield Group to assist in scrap reductions including guiding use of resources where workload constrains the number of projects which can be completed.
* Work closely with sales, planning and production to ensure revenue targets are achieved, surprises minimised and solutions presented before they are required.
* Take a pro-active approach with non-finance managers and associates to assist in cost saving targets without impacting revenue and output requirements.
* Improve reporting for production variances including splitting of scrap, material usage, labour usage and WIP variances
* Introduce reporting for warranty and repair activities within the constraints of the existing JDE ERP system and take learnings into SAP implementation.
* Take a ‘nothing sacred’ approach to internal and group reporting from finance and provide robust but helpful challenge where reporting fails to add value to the business.
* Be the lead for all requirements from the Office of National Statistics ensuring accurate and on-time delivery of requests
Qualifications
* Qualified or Finalist Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in engineering/manufacturing companies.
* Excellent Excel skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proven application of Accounting standards in the real world with US GAAP being an advantage
* Knowledge of SAP and/or JDE would be an advantage
* Confident communicator who is willing to step outside the finance function and help other departments where required
