TeacherActive is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Medway to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with additional needs.
This rewarding SEND Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in a child’s learning and development. As an SEND Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide tailored support, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.
This SEND Teaching Assistant role starts in January 2026 initially running until the February half term but could well run longer.
SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
1:1 and small-group support for a Year 2 pupil with SEND
Supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Helping to implement individual support strategies and learning plans
Creating a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment
The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
Has experience supporting children with SEND (school-based or similar)
Is patient, proactive, and caring
Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Is reliable and committed for the duration of the placement
