Mathematics is one of the most popular subjects at both AS and A level at Uxbridge College Sixth Form. We also offer AS and A level Further Mathematics and we have seen a growing interest in the subject from students over recent years. Both subjects boast strong success rates and high grades, enabling students to secure high ranking university places.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational lecturer of mathematics, with excellent subject knowledge of the A Level curricula for Mathematics and Further Mathematics. You will join a dedicated team and ensure the high standards of delivery and quality of teaching are maintained as well as help develop the strong results of the department. It is anticipated that a substantial proportion of the successful candidate's timetable will be dedicated to the teaching of A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. For all mathematics qualifications offered in the Sixth Form, we follow the Pearson Edexcel specifications.
You will possess a degree in Mathematics or a closely related area (e.g. Physics, Engineering), with experience of teaching mathematics in a classroom setting up to and including A Level, with the ability to demonstrate a high standard of teaching, learning and student achievement. We would welcome applications from both experienced teachers and enthusiastic new entrants to the profession. If you do not possess a teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, we will support you to achieve this.
The UK Government have a scheme in place which enables eligible Further Education teachers within their first 5 years of working in Further Education to claim up to £6,000 directly from the Government. Further guidance on this can be found by visiting Targeted retention incentive payments for FE teachers - GOV.UK
