Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE) - 37 Hours

Location: Torbay Council

Compensation: £39,152 - £41,771 / year

Restorative Practice: Torbay adopts a restorative practice approach, being the first UK local authority with Registered Restorative Organisation status. A dedicated restorative practice lead provides training to ensure staff confidence and competence.

We are a highly supportive and ambitious place to start your social work career. The role requires the ability to fulfil spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.


Skills

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to mediate, negotiate and solve problems.
* Assess situations with clarity and sensitivity; act professionally in crisis.
* Work effectively with families in an open, challenging way.
* Prepare and present reports in a variety of settings.


Knowledge

* General knowledge of child and family options.
* Childcare legislation and its impact.
* Current CP practice, assessment frameworks and CLA materials.
* Relevant child care issues and evidence‑based application.


Experience & Qualifications

* Direct work with children, young people, families and professionals.
* Autonomous and team‑based working experience.

This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions as per legislation.
