Early Years Teaching Assistants – Rochester

Both schools are seeking committed and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistants or Practitioners to join their Nursery and Reception classes on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2025.
These are exciting opportunities for passionate Early Years professionals looking to support young children at the start of their educational journey in a nurturing and inclusive school setting. Ideal for those interested in developing a long-term career in education, including aspiring teachers.
Role Overview:
You will be working closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to create a safe, engaging and supportive environment that enables children to grow in confidence and develop essential early learning skills. Your role will be crucial in helping children thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Early Years Support: Assist in the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
One-to-One & Group Work: Support individual children and small groups, particularly those with additional needs such as ASD or speech and language delays.
Learning through Play: Help create stimulating learning environments that encourage exploration, creativity, and independence.
Classroom Preparation: Set up and maintain interactive and inspiring indoor and outdoor learning areas.
Child Development Tracking: Contribute to observations and assessments of children’s progress, supporting the teacher with planning.
Positive Relationships: Build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Requirements:
Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma).
Experience: Previous experience in a Nursery or Reception class is essential.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Personal Attributes: Energetic, kind, patient, and motivated to support young children with their development.

DBS: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one), registered on the update service.
