About The Role
The Street Scene department is responsible for a wide range of services including the installation of bins, benches, and other street furniture. We also assist in maintaining public car parks and support events such as D-Day commemorations, Rugby in Bloom, and the Christmas lights display. We serve as a key support service for other council departments, handling civil works, emergency repairs, flood management, drainage, park maintenance, and private services like drop kerb and driveway installations.
In this role, you'll carry out operational and monitoring functions of the Street Scene Team, support the Team Leader in highway works, public realm maintenance, and coordinate inspections and maintenance.
You will be the frontline contact for all street scene services, managing service requests and liaising with colleagues or agencies to meet customer needs.
You will assist in resolving public realm queries, requiring creative problem-solving for complex issues.
You will work under supervision but also autonomously, coordinating the Street Scene operatives' daily tasks and ensuring KPIs are met.
About You
Ideally, you will have knowledge of H&S legislation, CDM Regulations, the New Roads and Streetworks Act, procurement, and financial controls.
You should have experience in performance management, strong problem-solving skills, and good IT and communication skills.
A full driving licence is essential.
