Job description
Do you have an interest and passion to help fight climate change? The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) is recruiting for a role which provides the opportunity to be involved in the UK�s transition to zero emission vehicles.
OZEV is a cross-government team between the Department for Transport (DfT) and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). OZEV manages a programme to help position the UK at the global forefront of zero emission vehicle development and to prepare the country�s infrastructure for mass market transition. This is an exciting, fast moving policy area that supports the transition to zero emission vehicles, wider governmental priorities of decarbonising road transport and ultimately, contributes to the government�s requirement of net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Draft and review high-quality responses and monitor a diverse range of incoming ministerial correspondence and parliamentary questions on OZEV policy areas. Proofread, sign-off, monitor and answer ministerial correspondence and parliamentary questions on OZEV policy areas. Excellent drafting and organisational skills are required to ensure that responses are appropriate, accurate and timely to provide stakeholders with up-to-date information.
2. Lead on cross-cutting OZEV briefing for Ministerial and senior official meetings, events, speeches and Parliamentary business.
3. Line manage a small team of Executive Officers to motivate and support them with their duties, wellbeing and performance to ensure that individual and team goals are reached.
4. Build, develop and maintain a cross-Government networkto ensure consistent, accurate and current use of messages OZEV policy to support the department�s wider climate change ambitions.
5. Support the R&D team with the development of a potential AI tool. Act as a central contact to supply them with data needed to facilitate the testing of this technology.

Additional Information:
A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.�
There may be occasions where you will be required to travel to other DfT offices and attend meetings and visits around the UK.
