What's involved with this role: Temporary Grounds Maintenance Worker – Manual Labour Job Ref: Sheffield TCL 0008 BA65 / 1 Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 36 Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 5pm Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5 months City: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Candidates must be able to work across various locations The purpose of the role is to undertake environmental and horticultural maintenance duties city wide. Delivering front-line service across the city, dealing with any areas in need of general improvement as directed. Key Responsibilities: Under the direction of a supervisor, to carry out defined horticultural maintenance work to parks and other green open spaces to ensure that they are clean, safe and attractive. Undertake general gardening and environmental maintenance duties including, for instance, hedge cutting, pruning, grass cutting, litter picking, fly-tipped and other rubbish removal, using appropriate equipment as directed by a supervisor. Undertake some duties without direct supervision, such as emptying bins, litter picking and general gardening. Carry out improvement work including preparation and painting work to outdoor fixtures, erection of temporary fencing, signage etc and the installation of dog bins. Work at all times in accordance with established Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety Guidelines, Policies and Procedures. Meet clients as appropriate. Ensure that the issue of ‘Waste Transfer Notes’ and other documentation is undertaken and recorded in line with current legislation. Drive and clean council vehicles.
