Director of Climate Science
Salary: up to £140k
Location: GMT +/- 3hrs
PureFuel have partnered with a leading carbon removal start-up, who are looking for a Director of Climate Science to spearhead the company’s position on CDR, carbon markets and climate policy. This role has 3 direct reports.
Responsibilities include:
1. Drive innovation in climate vetting methodologies and frameworks for various CDR methods and successfully execute climate vetting for potential projects.
2. Be the voice of climate amongst the leadership team, shaping this company’s strategic development.
3. Act as a spokesperson and produce influential thought leadership content.
4. Directly oversee and contribute technical expertise to their corporate climate consultancy projects.
5. Manage emission measurement and net zero transition planning for their clients.
Skills/Experience Required:
MUST HAVE - Ph.D. in natural sciences such as environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, biology or physics.
8+ years of professional experience in the climate industry and strong record of building strong management teams.
In-depth expertise in CDR, including a range of different CDR methods.
Strong understanding and proven experience in voluntary carbon markets.
