The role is working Monday to Thursday - 2 days' in the office, 2 days' from home.
Rate is c£60-63 Ltd per hour (outside IR35, or Umbrella/PAYE equivalent)
Duties for the Principal EC&I Engineer:
You will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design activities, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project and engineering management teams, you will support the successful delivery of engineering solutions while maintaining compliance with industry standards, legislation, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise engineering design teams, providing technical direction and support.
* Plan, coordinate and monitor engineering activities against project scope, budget and programme.
* Support project delivery through effective management of technical risks, change control and design reviews.
* Develop and review design documentation, specifications and technical reports.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and engineering best practice, including machinery safety requirements.
* Coordinate with internal departments, clients, suppliers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support verification, validation and design assurance activities.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a right-first-time engineering culture.
* Mentor and develop engineers, supporting competence and professional development.
* Provide technical input to bids, proposals and tender submissions.
Requirements for the Principal EC&I Engineer:
* Degree qualified in EC&I Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
* Professionally registered Engineer (or working towards registration).
* Proven experience leading engineering design teams within a regulated engineering environment.
* Strong understanding of engineering design processes, safety requirements and compliance standards.
* Experience managing technical deliverables, project schedules and engineering resources.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills. xsngvjr
* Knowledge of machinery safety regulations, including LOLER, PUWER and CDM, would be advantageous.
