The Opportunity
This temporary (with a view to permanent) HSE position has arisen to provide additional on?site safety support during a period of increased operational activity. You’ll be joining a well?established, forward?thinking engineering and manufacturing organisation recognised for its strong safety culture and commitment to continuous improvement.
As a key member of the HSE function, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining safe working practices, driving COSHH compliance, supporting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the site. This is an ideal opportunity for an HSE professional who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, solving problems, and contributing to a team that values collaboration, innovation, and employee wellbeing.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Supporting and advising management and employees on day?to?day health and safety matters
Carrying out, reviewing and maintaining COSHH risk assessments
Completing general risk assessments and safe systems of work
Conducting shop?floor inspections and safety audits
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near?miss events
Supporting compliance with UK health & safety legislation
Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the site
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Proven COSHH experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation
Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
Confident engagement skills with shop?floor teams.
It’s great if you also have the following
IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH)
Experience in heavy or high?risk manufacturing environments
Exposure to ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 systems
