Associate Practice Manager – Surgical Center

Location: AL - Birmingham

The Associate Practice Manager assists the Practice Manager in overseeing the delivery of the Sono Bello patient experience and the smooth and efficient operations of a Center’s daily business activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Oversee and support day‑to‑day activities in an accredited outpatient surgical facility, delivering the Sono Bello patient experience, running center operations, and building a strong team member culture.
* Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and AAAHC guidelines in operations.
* Engage patients throughout their journey, ensuring timely resolution of issues and collaborating with the Patient Experience Team as needed.
* Partner with the Practice Manager to own and execute new initiatives, policies, product, and procedural changes launched through the National Support Center.
* Build and champion action and development plans across team members to achieve company goals in a dynamic environment.
* Deliver an outstanding Center business scorecard, understanding metrics and performance drivers.
* Manage timely and accurate submission, tracking, auditing, and reporting for the center (e.g., surgical note compliance, invoicing, payroll, logs, incident reports).
* Maintain security of in‑house medications as per policy.
* Ensure the office’s physical facilities are properly maintained and in excellent condition for patients.
* Coordinate with the National Support Facilities Team and Property Management to meet facility standards.
* Oversee accurate clinician and front desk scheduling and maintain expertise across technology platforms.
* Provide coverage as needed for staff members in a backup capacity.
* Accountable for overtime hours and maintaining staffing levels necessary to meet clinical standards.
* Communicate with the governing body, executive management, surgeons, and center employees through regular discussions, meetings, and visual demonstrations.
* Resolve real‑time issues such as employee relations, customer service, ordering, financial matters, and patient complaints.
* Facilitate quality communication among patients, surgeons, employees, and National Support staff.
* Protect confidentiality, security, and physical safety of patient and clinical records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
* Supervise secure collection, processing, and storage of clinical records.
* Ensure respectful treatment of patients, team members, and surgeons in line with Sono Bello standards.
* Provide a timely and organized recruiting experience for new team members in partnership with the National Support Talent Team.
* Coordinate new hire paperwork and training plans with HR, risk management, and credentialing managers.
* Ensure timely and accurate performance reviews and enforce development plans and discipline policies.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Practice Manager in supervising front desk, physicians, registered nurses, medical assistants, licensed practical nurses, and consultants in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.


QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates possess the following education, experience, skills, and abilities:

* BA/BS Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience performing audits, communicating results, and driving improvements.
* Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn various computer operating systems.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Mathematical proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
* Analytical reasoning and problem‑solving skills.
* Physical ability to operate a telephone, computer, type documents, sit for extended periods, stand, walk, and lift up to 20 pounds.
* Willingness to travel 1–2 weeks per quarter to other Sono Bello offices.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position works in an office environment with quiet to moderate noise levels. Travel to other offices may be required quarterly.


COMPENSATION RANGE

$27–$32 USD (full‑time). Pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs.
