We’re working with a well-established, reputable provider delivering high-quality residential and short-break services for children and young people with disabilities across Cornwall. With a strong values-led culture and a commitment to empowering young people, they are now looking to welcome additional Residential Care Workers (RCWs) to their team.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in care or support work who is passionate about helping children develop independence, communication skills, and confidence through meaningful, person-centred care. Those without experience but true interest in the sector are encouraged to apply too.

As a Residential Care Worker, you will:
* Support children and young people with a range of disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in line with individual care plans
* Build positive, meaningful relationships that promote growth, learning, and enjoyment
* Facilitate a range of activities, community inclusion, and holiday/respite opportunities
* Undertake key worker responsibilities under guidance from the management team
* Support with daily household tasks, cooking, routines, and the general running of the home
* Administer medication safely and adhere to all safeguarding and regulatory frameworks including Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards
* Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, healthcare professionals, and wider agencies.
* Work shift patterns including early, late, split shifts, weekends, and potential sleep-ins as required
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children, young people, or adults in a care environment
* Ability to produce accurate and timely records and reports
* Strong safeguarding awareness and commitment to safe, high-quality care
* GCSEs (or equivalent) + Level 3 in Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
* Ability to follow care plans, work within multi-agency frameworks, and advocate for children’s needs
* Flexibility around shifts and operational demands
* Compassion, resilience, and a genuine passion for improving children’s lives
