We're Hiring: Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer – Glasgow
An established engineering and sustainability consultancy is expanding its Glasgow-based team and is seeking a talented Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer to support continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about Building Performance Modelling, sustainability, and the future of the built environment.
The organisation works across a wide range of building sectors, providing integrated design, technical expertise, and innovative solutions to help clients deliver efficient, low-carbon projects. The Building Performance Modelling & Sustainability teams collaborate closely with engineering specialists to deliver full building services solutions.
About the Role
As a key member of the Building Performance Modelling team, you will help develop:
• Energy and decarbonisation strategies
• Sustainability approaches for new-build and existing buildings
• Performance modelling to support engineering design
• Site assessments and environmental evaluations
You will also have opportunities to broaden your knowledge of environmental systems, undertake assessments, provide sustainability guidance, and work towards professional membership.
Preferred Skills & Experience
We welcome candidates with:
• BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in a Built Environment or Engineering-related subject
• 2+ years' experience in building physics (heat transfer, thermal xxuwjjq comfort, ventilation, energy modelling)
• Experience using IES-VE
• Low Carbon Energy Assessor accreditation
• Understanding of daylight analysis, TM54, decarbonisation studies, and sustainability rating tools (BREEAM, NABERS)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach
• Analytical thinking and a creative mindset
• Strong organisation, task management, and awareness of commercial design factors
• A genuine passion for sustainable building design
