Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home | £33,665–£34,881 + sleep-ins
Role Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of an EBD children’s home, ensuring consistent, high-quality care.
Lead, mentor, and supervise staff, modelling therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
Oversee rotas, staffing, budgets, and daily operational tasks, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards.
Step up confidently in the Manager’s absence, handling audits, incidents, and key decisions.
Maintain accurate documentation including care plans, risk assessments, and regulatory records.
Work collaboratively with social workers, families, and external agencies to achieve strong outcomes for young people.
Role Requirements
Minimum 18 months’ experience as a Senior, Deputy, or Team Leader in a children’s EBD home.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum essential).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and Children’s Homes Standards.
Experience managing rotas, staffing, and day-to-day home operations.
Confident leader with a therapeutic mindset and ability to step into management responsibilities.
Full UK driving licence.
