This position is a great opportunity for an experienced professional leader to join our Transitional, Emergency Housing and Sustaining Tenancies teams. Our team provides navigation services to tenants who are experiencing homelessness or housing distress. You will be focused on leading team members, providing support to secure housing, building tenancy skills, support services, and service navigation.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Dunedin, working Monday to Friday.
Duties of the role could include:
* Provide practical support, oversight and co-ordination to staff who are tasked with delivering emergency housing services to tenants/ service users, and ensure teams are trained, cohesive and work collaboratively
* Integrate expertise, knowledge, and competencies in line with Emerge Aotearoa's commitment to provide quality services
* Manage and plan services within the budgets allocated, in collaboration with the Operations Manager - Housing
* Continuously seek new ways of improving the services provided and the desired outcomes for service users
* Raising any new risks and hazards at regular team meetings
We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader who has a solid background in coaching and leading people to achieve success, is passionate about providing inspiring, hands-on leadership, and working with people who connect clients to support networks in the community and assisting them to reach their potential.
You will be a person who is comfortable working with diverse groups of people. Each day can bring new challenges. We'd love to hear from you if you can provide structure and consistency while being compassionate, open-minded, and flexible.
You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.
What you need:
* At least two years people leadership experience
* Emergency housing experience is desirable
* A minimum of two years of experience working in the health, social, or community housing sector is preferred
* Experience working positively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve service objectives
* In-depth knowledge and experience working with clients who have high and complex needs
* Good communications skills to effectively communicate with the people in the community, kaimahi, tangata whaiora, and their whānau
* It's essential that you have a full New Zealand driving licence
* Eligible to work in New Zealand
