Role Summary
The Scientist will support the drug development team, leveraging technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the discovery and characterization of novel drug candidates and their clinical formulations.
The Impact you will have at Metsera
Under the guidance of the Research Director, the main roles will include:
* Executing and optimizing assays to characterize Metsera's peptides and peptide formulations
* Developing novel assays for future bioanalysis needs
* Developing quality control testing and characterization assays
* Collaborating with Discovery and CMC Teams to address peptide characterization needs on short notice
* Maintaining accurate records of experiments and studies
* Analyzing large datasets and generating research reports
Additional duties may include:
* Participating in training and development
* Supporting laboratory operations, including cleaning and maintenance
What you bring to Metsera
* MSc +2 years or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
* Wet lab experience in molecular biology with peptide or protein research background
* Experience developing analytical methods for peptides or proteins
* Knowledge of biological molecule characterization techniques (e.g., LC, DLS/SLS)
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills
* Flexible and cooperative attitude
* Self-motivated and able to prioritize work independently
* Discreet and committed to confidentiality
Preferred:
* Experience with LCMS
* Start-up biotech experience
