A specialist SEN school in Erdington, catering to students aged 11-16 with a range of complex learning needs, is seeking a qualified SENCO to join their dedicated team on a part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable SEN professional who is passionate about inclusive education and is looking to contribute their expertise in a supportive, specialist environment without a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage SEN provision as a Qualified SENCO across the school in Erdington, in line with statutory requirements
Coordinate and review EHCPs in collaboration with teaching staff, families, and external professionals
Support teachers with effective strategies and resources for meeting the diverse needs of students
Ensure accurate SEN record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting
Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive inclusive practice and continuous improvement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
Proven experience in a Qualified SENCO role, ideally within a specialist or secondary setting
Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and current SEN legislation
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A commitment to supporting students with complex needs to thrive
