We’re looking for a Ledger Assistant to join our busy Finance team based at Wherstead Park, Ipswich on a fixed term basis for 9 months. What you’ll be doing
As a Ledger Assistant, you’ll play a key part in supporting the financial operations of our Society. You’ll process invoices and credit notes across both our purchase and sales ledgers, support ledger reconciliations, and respond to queries from suppliers, customers, and colleagues. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring financial processes run smoothly day to day.
Whilst this is a fixed term position, the role is full-time role, working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week), based at our Central Office at Wherstead Park in Ipswich.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Processing purchase and sales invoices with accuracy and efficiency
2. Matching payments and receipts against invoices
3. Supporting financial reconciliations and compliance activities
4. Maintaining supplier and customer accounts
5. Handling internal and external financial queries in a timely, professional manner
6. Helping to set up and maintain supplier accounts in our finance systems
7. Working closely with the wider Finance team to identify improvements and support ledger processes
The person we are looking for
You’ll have a good eye for detail, enjoy working with financial data, and bring a proactive approach to resolving queries. You’ll be comfortable using Excel and financial systems and confident working as part of a collaborative finance team.
We’re looking for someone who:
8. Has experience in a sales or purchase ledger role (desirable but not essential)
9. Understands the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in financial administration
10. Has strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
11. Can manage their time effectively and meet deadlines
12. Is confident using Excel and ideally familiar with NetSuite and DIDOS (training provided)
