Bookkeeper Location: Belfast Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience) We are seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join a reputable organisation within the charity sector. This role is office-based with the potential for hybrid working after the onboarding period. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the finance team, providing high-quality bookkeeping and transactional support to ensure the smooth running of financial operations. Day-to-day of the role: Maintain and update financial records on an accounting system tailored to charitable operations. Monitor daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy across all accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data and records. Support the preparation of year-end reports, including account reconciliations and data entry. Organise and manage source documents and financial files in line with internal procedures. Utilise spreadsheets, databases, and charity-specific accounting software to carry out financial tasks. Assist local branches with digital donation platforms and troubleshoot related queries. Prepare and process payments accurately and on time. Respond to payment-related queries from internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to support reporting and data collection. Attend internal and external meetings, contributing to discussions and ensuring deadlines are met. Provide general administrative support to senior staff as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in accounting or financial administration Proficiency in computerised accounting systems, with the ability to quickly adapt to bespoke platforms. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a professional and collaborative approach.
