We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team here at Mitie as we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable HVAC Technician to carry maintenance on HVAC systems at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW). UHCW is one of the biggest healthcare facilities in the UK. The role involves maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and performing related duties. The candidate must be able to work in a team-based setting, sharing workload and information with other team members to ensure client satisfaction. Considerable knowledge of Healthcare Engineering services within the HVAC profession is required. Experience working in an acute or non-acute hospital setting is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect and engage in compassionate and inclusive leadership in the provision of high-quality care and interactions with others.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience maintaining air handling systems
* City & Guilds 2079 Category 1
* Knowledge of HTM 03-01
* Experience in refrigeration and air conditioning
* City & Guilds Level 2 in Air conditioning & refrigeration
Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical and electrical inspections and maintenance on air handling systems to bring them to optimal performance
* Perform grease bearing changes, change bearings on fan and motors as required
* Change belts and adjust belts
* Change fan motors and perform laser alignment
* Change and clean glass traps where required
* Filter change
* Clean air handling unit to a high standard
* Fault finding
* Take air readings / air change rates
* Maintain medical and domestic refrigeration units
* Fault find on DX air conditioning systems
* Weekly chiller inspections
* Change valves and actuators on heating & cooling coils
