We’re partnering with a leading UK-based design and manufacturing organisation operating at the forefront of advanced technology in the defence and surveillance space. With multiple sites nationwide and a reputation for delivering high-performance, mission-critical products, this is a business where quality is not just a function — it’s fundamental to success.
They are now seeking an experienced Head of Quality to take full ownership of the Quality function across three sites. This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, influence at board level, and drive a culture of excellence across the entire organisation.
The Opportunity - Head of Quality
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will define and lead the Quality strategy, ensuring robust governance, compliance with ISO 9001, and continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle — from concept through to customer acceptance.
You’ll act as the senior authority on all quality matters, engaging directly with customers, strengthening supplier performance, and embedding a right-first-time, data-driven approach across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
What You’ll Be Doing - Head of Quality
* Leading and evolving the Quality function across multiple sites
* Owning and enhancing the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Acting as the key interface for customer quality and acceptance activities
* Strengthening supplier quality, audit programmes, and compliance
* Embedding structured methodologies (FMEA, RCA, Lean, Six Sigma)
* Developing and mentoring a high-performing Quality team
What We’re Looking For - Head of Quality
* Proven senior leadership experience within complex engineering or manufacturing environments (defence, aerospace, automotive or similar)
* Deep expertise in ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems
* Strong stakeholder influence and customer-facing experience
* A technical/engineering background with a strategic mindset
* Passion for driving improvement, accountability, and high standards
