An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Community Paediatrician within our Community Child Health service based at Rainbow House Child Development Centre, Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine.
Hours And Shift Pattern
This position is available as a full-time 10 session post, but we welcome applications from those who wish to work less than full time or on a job share basis. Working from home for up to 2 sessions a week can be discussed. There is no out of hours commitment, but an option to contribute to the out of hours rota could be discussed with interested candidates.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis to cover a period of staff absence. It is for 12 months in the first instance with the possibility of an extension.
What You Will Do
The successful applicant will join a cohesive, established team of paediatricians in further developing children’s services in Ayrshire. You will provide Community neurodevelopmental clinics in Rainbow House and in the locality of North Ayrshire. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including AHPs and experienced nurses and will liaise with local schools. A contribution to the service for Autism diagnosis would be welcome and also a contribution to Safeguarding services.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Applicants will be appropriately experienced with Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practise, and shall be eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register. Non-UK applicants require to demonstrate equivalent training. MRCPCH or equivalent is also essential.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
