Electrical Design & Estimator
Salary: £40-55k + Pension | Location: Yorkshire | Ref: 25371
Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
* Assist in the design of electrical and M&E projects alongside the wider design team
* Develop and produce Electrical CAD drawings
* Co‑ordinate M&E services with overall scheme designs
* Attend and contribute to project design meetings
* Prepare material take‑offs and bills of materials
* Produce costings and quotations for projects
* Source pricing from suppliers and sub‑contractors
* Support sub‑contract enquiries and supplier negotiations
* Maintain and update installation drawings throughout project lifecycles
* Prepare as‑fitted drawings upon project completion
* Work closely with managers and designers to ensure projects meet client and company requirements
* Occasional site visits alongside a primarily office/home‑based role
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
* Experience in CAD design (AutoCAD and AMTECH)
* Experience in electrical services design and/or estimating (one required, willingness to develop the other)
* Knowledge of cable design, lighting, and emergency lighting systems
* Understanding of electrical regulations (advantageous)
* Strong teamwork skills with the confidence to question, challenge and support colleagues
* Good organisational and coordination abilities
* Willingness to learn and develop with structured mentoring support
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
Located in Yorkshire, this role would be commutable from Leeds, York, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and other surrounding areas.
