This role offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research in AI and statistical signal processing, with a focus on sequential data and decision-making systems. As a Senior Research Scientist, you’ll drive the development of novel algorithms and intelligent systems that operate in complex, data-rich environments. What You’ll Do: Lead the technical execution of projects, providing guidance and mentorship to junior researchers. Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and supporting documentation. Drive innovative research within designated topic areas, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and leading UK universities. Design and develop prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrators to validate research outcomes. Take full ownership of project tasks, ensuring delivery to high standards and within challenging timelines. Work independently or collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary project teams. Communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Mentor and support junior staff, fostering their development in related research domains. Publish and/or patent novel research outcomes, contributing to academic journals, conferences, or intellectual property portfolios where appropriate. What You’ll Bring: PhD or equivalent experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or statistical signal processing. Proficient in Python, with strong development skills and hands-on experience using machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and scikit-learn. Domain expertise in areas including radar, sonar, radio frequency (RF) systems, autonomous systems, or distributed sensing technologies.
