* bMoving and Handling Specialist Support mb providing expert clinical guidance and practical solutions to safeguard both patients and staff.mb
* bTrust-Wide MAST Training mb overseeing the delivery of mandatory and statutory training programs that empower our workforce with essential knowledge and skills.mb

Responsibilities
This high-profile leadership role oversees several essential Health and Safety services, ensuring statutory compliance and safeguarding all who enter the Trust. Youll lead a diverse portfolio with clarity and vision, driving a proactive approach to health, safety, and fire legislation that creates a secure environment for staff, patients, and the public.
As the Trusts Head of Health & Safety, youll provide high-level advice grounded in a deep understanding of legislation, NHS guidelines, and best practices, supporting informed, strategic decisions. Youll ensure accurate statutory data and compliance reporting, offering vital assurance to the Trust Board, Department of Health, HSE, and other external bodies.
Working closely with the Director of Estates and Facilities, youll help shape and deliver Trust-wide strategic plans, while developing robust policies that reflect national priorities and local needs. Collaboration is key, youll engage with senior leaders, technical experts, external agencies, and contractors to foster innovation and maintain a strong compliance culture.
Youll also play a critical role in aligning Health and Safety strategies with the Trusts Cost Improvement and Efficiency Programmes. This is more than a management position, its a chance to lead real change, protect lives, and make a measurable impact across the organisation.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Masters in Health and Safety / Healthcare Risk Management or equivalent level of study / experience.
* Be a chartered member of IOSH professional body CMIOSH or working towards chartered membership.
Desirable Qualifications
* Hold a leadership management diploma or equivalent experience.
Essential Knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for compliance with relevant standards.
* Demonstrable experience in healthcare risk management and compliance.
* Able to understand complex legislation including health and safety, building and building services regulations.
* Professional, technical, specialist in health and safety.
* Demonstrable experience in formulating development plans and policies e.g. NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care.
* Knowledge of CQC Standards, Procurement and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Knowledge
* Working knowledge / experience of other estates / facilities services.
