Job Overview:
Bay Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Achievement Support Assistant to start as soon as possible to supervise and care for pupils across the whole school. The role will involve covering PPA and implementing effective interventions for whole classes. This is a permanent position.
Contract and salary Details:
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only (190 days)
Grade: 6, Scp 14 – 19, £20,136 - £21854 per annum (actual salary)
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
1. Have the ability to establish constructive relationships with pupils according to their individual needs
2. Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour
3. Set challenging and demanding expectations to promote self-esteem and independence
4. Provide effective support via coaching and mentoring and modelling an enthusiasm for improving personal performance to individuals and groups of pupils
5. Assist in the monitoring and marking of pupils’ responses to learning activities, making use of the school’s tracking data, completing accurate records and reports
6. Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning
7. Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress
8. Under the direction of senior staff deliver bespoke intervention and enrichment programmes e.g. literacy, numeracy, guided reading, phonics, spelling, language development, Early Years, social skills, emotional skills and behavioural skills, recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher
9. Liaise closely with appropriate staff in relation to safeguarding, behaviour and wellbeing issues

The post holder will primarily be based at Bay Primary School but may, on occasion, be expected to work in other schools within the MAT as part of collaborative working.
