Job Description

VANRATH is pleased to be partnering with a high-profile public sector body to recruit an HR Support Officer for a key temporary opportunity within their established HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking organisation with a strong commitment to employee development and organisational improvement.

Please note: This is a fully office-based role with no hybrid working at this time.

The Role


This varied and hands-on HR role will see you providing crucial support across a range of HR administrative functions, training coordination, and project work. Key duties will include:

1.
Supporting the development and delivery of the staff training plan for the remainder of 2025/26
2.
Processing training applications using the Personnel Administration Management (PAM) system
3.
Assisting with monitoring training budget spend and reporting
4.
Contributing to a skills audit to support the 2026/27 training plan
5.
Managing sickness absence records and return-to-work documentation
6.
Supporting the implementation of the Commission's Recruitment & Selection procedures, including use of the online recruitment portal
7.
Assisting in the rollout of hybrid working arrangements
8.
Participating in HR data migration projects to a new cloud-based system
9.
Helping digitise manual personnel files as part of a wider transformation project
10.
Supporting day-to-day HR admin tasks and ensuring accurate recordkeeping

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience in HR administration or a similar office-based HR support role
12.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
13.
Confidence working with HR systems (e.g., PAM or similar personnel databases)
14.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
15.
Experience in training coordination or recruitment administration would be an advantage
16.
A collaborative attitude and ability to work well in a close-knit team

Working Hours:

17.
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37 hours/week)
18.
Lunch break:
* Mon-Thurs: 35 minutes
* Friday: 40 minutes
