About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shift Manager to join our client's dynamic team in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. As the Shift Manager for our client's night shift, you will play a key role in overseeing the operations and ensuring the effective management of all manufacturing activities. You’ll lead a team of operators, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining a high level of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead the night shift team, ensuring smooth and efficient production operations.
* Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards are adhered to at all times, taking immediate action on any safety concerns.
* Oversee and monitor the production process, ensuring that products are manufactured according to quality standards, specifications, and production schedules.
* Motivate, support, and develop a team of production operators and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Ensure KPIs are met, including output targets, quality levels, and efficiency metrics.
* Manage shift handovers effectively to ensure seamless transitions between shifts.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any operational or technical issues that arise during the shift.
* Perform regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
* Manage and coordinate the shift workforce to optimise productivity, minimise downtime, and reduce waste.
* Ensure all production documentation, logs, and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Shift Manager or Supervisor in a manufacturing environment, preferably within FMCG.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and drive performance.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Flexibility to work night shifts on a 4 on, 4 off pattern.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean or Six Sigma) is desirable.
* A proactive and hands-on approach to operations management.
